You know, God is interested in your finances, how you handle it, and how much wisdom you apply to it. That is why he has given us direction regarding it in his word, so we are not confused as to his view on it. Below are just a few of the many scriptures on money that you will find in the bible. Do feel free to add yours as a comment below.

 

1)    Dishonest money dwindles away, but whoever gathers money little by little makes it grow. –Proverbs 13:11 (NIV)

2)    Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.” –Hebrews 13:5 (NLT)

3)    There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty. –Proverbs 11:24

4)    For wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it. -Ecclesistes 7:12

5)    On the first day of every week each one of you is to put aside and save, as he may prosper, so that no collections be made when I come. – 1 Corinthians 16:2 (NASB)

6)    The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is slave to the lender. –Proverbs 22:7 (NIV)

7)    Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with [his] hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth. –Ephesians 4:28

8)    Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. -Romans 13:8

9)    For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after , they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. -1 Timothy 6:10

10)    He that oppresseth the poor to increase his riches, and he that giveth to the rich, shall surely come to want. –Proverbs 22:16

11)    The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow. -Deuteronomy 28:12

12)    Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field bringeth forth year by year. -Deuteronomy 14:22

13)    He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. -Luke 16:10

14)    Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it. –Proverbs 3:27

15)    And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much. And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing. And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury: For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living. –Mark 12: 41-44

16)    Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full–pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back. –Luke 6:38 (NLT)

17)    Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it? –Luke 14:28 (NIV)

18)    Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful. – I Corinthians 4:2

19)    For the LORD your God will bless you as He has promised you, and you will lend to many nations, but you will not borrow; and you will rule over many nations, but they will not rule over you. –Deuteronomy 15:6 (NASB)

20)    Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. –Malachi 3:10

21)    Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’  For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. –Matthew 6:31-33 (ESV)
