Wait! It’s all in there!

It was a simple game of solitaire…I had played it before countless of times. I enjoyed it, it helped me unwind and relax, helped me feel deliberately “lazy” and forget the one thousand and one things I needed to do…at least momentarily.

But this time, it was different. I was stuck, and as I was about giving up, and reaching to go “home” to draw more cards for a rescue, I got a “check” within me. Something that said not to give up so easily…stay a little longer and maneuver some more, the answer is right there. I paused a little, and took the challenge..after a few attempts, I was “unstuck” and able to proceed with the game.

At that moment, I felt God reminding me that, “everything you need is right inside of you!” This was a great reminder to me, of how many times we run off looking for solution everywhere, when all we really needed was to “be still, and know that He is God” (Psalm 46:10).

It also reminded me that God has placed so much in each one of us, enough to help us live satisfied lives. But we are often afraid, and sometimes cannot even comprehend that we are that “special” to have a anything special inside of us; a special talent waiting to be unleashed and be a blessing to the world – how wrong we are!

Yes, He has equipped us with so much, way more than we would ever need to live successful Christian lives. And He is ready to help us find the solution to any problem we may be faced with. We just need to listen more; to be quick to listen, slow to speak (James 1:19). He is always willing to speak to us.

So do you need to be “un-stuck” today, simply ask Him, and trust that “faithful is He who has promised, who will also do it” (1 Thessalonian 5:24)

I pray we always remember to listen first for Him and not be hasty…
